Psychopsis insolens Psychopsis insolens is a member of the silky lacewing family Psychopsidae. These delicate and diaphanous insects are nocturnal and I found this one in repose on a window fly screen during the day. <br />

The silky lacewings are distinguishable in their adult stage by their patterned wings which are covered in soft hair. The wings have a broad shape with marked venation.<br />

Psychopsis insolens is a member of the silky lacewing family Psychopsidae. These delicate and diaphanous insects are nocturnal and I found this one in repose on a window fly screen during the day.

Silky lacewings are small and delicate insects distinguishable in their adult stage by their patterned, pubescent wings with a broad wing shape, dense venation, and the presence of a vena triplica (the apical fusion of three veins in the hindwing)
