Saw-edged Anglewing

Appearance

The genus Eutomopepla is comprised of 4 species, distributed variously from Costa Rica to Peru and Brazil. All have a similar angular wing shape and a brown ground colour. All except discuneata have a curved line running diagonally across the forewing, and all except vorda possess a yellow 'collar' behind the head.

Eutomopepla rogenhoferi is known from Ecuador and Peru.

Behavior

The moths are nocturnal and rest during the daytime among leaf litter on the forest floor.

Habitat

This species inhabits rainforest and cloudforest at elevations between about 200-1000m.
