synonym Pammene signifera (Heinrich, 1926)
Specific epithet from Latin prefix per+structus meaning "according to its structure."
Sciaphila perstructana and Pammene signifera were long regarded as separate species. The former was known from females only and the later from males only. Miller (1985) determined that both belong to the same species which he named Pammene perstructana.
