Orthocis alni (Gyllenhal, 1813) is a minute tree-fungus beetles (family Ciidae) known from a rather wide distribution range in Europe, but recorded erratically (either locally scarce of just underrecorded).

Appearance

Distinctly elongate, almost cylindrical, shiny black and regularly and randomly punctured and dressed with small scales. As in most Ciidae, fairly hard to identify, especially versus other species of Orthocis or Cis (used to be one genus)
