Dielis plumipes or the "Feather-legged Scoliid Wasp" is a species of Scoliid Wasps (Scoliidae) in the subfamily Campsomerinae. It is know from large parts of North America west of the Rocky Mountains.

Appearance

With around 15-25mm, this is a medium sized, rather hairy Scolid with yellow or creamy white abdominal bands. Males have much longer antennae than the females. On the females the longer hind tibial spurs are spatulate.

Naming

This species was originally described under the name Sphex plumipes by Drury in 1770.
