Appearance

Carapace to 2 cm. Reddish brown. Yellow eyes and bands where legs join body and leg tips. Often white W-shaped marking between eyes. Outer ends of carpus and wrist smooth or with small spines.

Distribution

Widespread Indo-Pacific. Also, Japan.

Behavior

Commensal with black corals.

Habitat

Found between the finger-like branches of black coral formations over coral and rocky reefs.
They hide during the day coming out at night to spread their arms and feed. Depth - 0-400m
