Naming

The subspecies Pylaemenes sepilokensis sepilokensis was described by P.E. Bragg in 1998, with the name of the sub-species deriving from the location of the type specimen, Sepilok.

Distribution

Recorded from Sabah, specifically from Sepilok where its name is derived from.
The species has also been recorded from Tawau and is endemic to the island of Borneo.
