''Ledra aurita'' is a species of bugs from Cicadellidae family. The only species of ''Ledrinae'' genus that lives in Europe and the United Kingdom.
Horned leafhopper It has taken me a long time to identify this leafhopper. For long I thought it was a moth so I checked moth pictures but couldn't find something alike there. Till on a compilation photo of leafhoppers I saw the matching image. Looking back I could have seen earlier that it wasn't a moth, but I still wouldn't have known what it was else.

Appearance

The species are large and grey with ear-like projections on the pronotum. They are 13–18 mm in lengh.

Habitat

Due to the its comouflage, it is hard to spot. The species can be found on lichen-covered trees, especially oaks, and can make loud noises.
