Mystacides azureus is a Caddis Fly from the Leptoceridae family. The species occurs in the Palaearctic region, and is found in flowing waters and sometimes tidal edges of lakes.

The larvae feed on plants and other organic material. They eat plant material and sometimes small arthropods. The larva overwinters.

Their body size is 6 to 7 millimeters, the antennas are twice as long. The wings are blue-black. They fly in swarms during the day from May to October in probably two annual generations.
