Appearance

This small (2,5-3,5mm) Chilocorinae is black with four red spots on the elytra. The pronotum has pale anterior corners and the head of the male is also pale, but dark in the female.
In contrast to the globular and shiny Chilocorini this beetle is much flatter and very hairy. Also the larvae are quite conspicuously shaped for a ladybird beetle.
