Aploschema discata

Aploschema discata

The adult moths of this species have off-white wings, each with scattered brown dots and spots. There are three dark spots at the pointed tornus of each hindwing. Like many moths in the family GEOMETRIDAE the moth has its wings open and flat in its resting posture. The wingspan of the males is about 2 cms. The wingspan of the females is about 3 cms.
Aploschema discata This pretty little moth with ivory wings complete with tiny black hearts was photographed at rest on a tiled surface during daylight hours. Wingspan 20 mm.

Update...as of January 23rd, 2021, the Atlas of Living Australia has just 3 registered sightings, specimens are deposited at the Australian National Insect Collection. So this little moth makes only the fourth sighting registered. It is rarely photographed. It will be added to the data base in the next couple of days, then I can add the link here.
