Fruitlet Mining Tortrix

Pammene rhediella

The Fruitlet Mining Tortrix - Pammene rhediella (Clerck, 1759) - is a rather small species of Tortricidae with a wingspan of around 11mm. Adult moths are active in May and June. The larvae feed in the spun flowers and fruit of hawthorn (Crataegus) or so some fruit trees like apple (Malus) or pear (Pyrus).
