Appearance

Female is larger than male. Female 8-10 mm, Male 4-6 mm. Carapace dark yellow with white hair. Sternum heart-shaped. Anterior part is brown with a white patch. Abdomen slightly pentagonal. Legs long, and dark yellow. Female has brownish cephalothorax. Dorsum bright yellow in color with three horizontal black bands. Ventrum with black and yellow mottles. Male has a dark brown cephalothorax. Male lacks any stripes found in female. Male does not spins a web, where it occupy periphery of the web of female.

Habitat

They are found naturally in woodlands and other forest patches. Other than these natural habitats, it was found abundantly from disturbed habitats like garbage dumps, drains and sewage. It is an entomophagous predator that preys on a wide range of insects. It builds a web with a zig-zag stabilimentum.
