O'shaughnessy's chameleon

Calumma oshaughnessy

This chameleon is endemic to the island of Madagascar where it is known from a number of localities in the central highlands and southeast between Tsinjoarivo (F. Glaw pers. comm. January 2011) and Antoetra in the north (Andreone et al. 2007) and Andohahela to the south (Glaw and Vences 2007). It was recorded at Andringitra between 1,240 and 1,300 m elevation (Raxworthy and Nussbaum 1996). Other sites where it is known to occur include Kalambatritra (Andreone and Randrianirina 2007) and Ranomafana (Jenkins et al. 1999). The chameleon's extent of occurrence is estimated to be 18,000 km².
