Dendrobium sabahense

Dendrobium sabahense is a species of Orchid from the family of Orchidaceae.

Stems erect to hanging, 15-63 cm long. Leaves 3.7-4.5 x 0.5-1.4 cm flattened, obliquely elliptic, acute to acuminate. Inflorescences borne along distal leafless portion of stem. Flowers 1 cm long, 1.1-1.3 cm across. Sepals 5-7 x 3.5-4.2 mm. Mentum 3-4.5 mm long, broadly conical, obtuse. Petals 4.5-4.7 x 2mm. Lip 7-8 x 9 mm, side lobes prominent, mid-lobe fan-shaped, deeply bilobulate, disc with central callus, also a wavy crest-like transverse keel extending along front edge of side lobes.
Dendrobium Orchid - Dendrobium sabahense Was originally given the ID of Dendrobium babiense but later told not likely, still the same genus though.
Its a very small Orchid, of less than 1 cm in size.

Naming

Named after the State of Sabah.
Orchid - Deadly Beauty This tiny Orchid of less than 1 cm in size and I was able to get it in position to play with the depth of field for this picture and at the same time, still being cautious getting within inches of a highly venomous viper!
