Lipotrapeza vestiens

A sea cucumber within the Phyllophoridae family.
Sea Cucumber (Lipotrapeza vestiens) A 50 mm long soft bodied sea cucumber with tapering ends. There appeared to be a paler side to the body, possibly the ventral side. The body was covered with small papillae which are retracted tube feet. The tentacles surrounding the mouth are also retracted.
This species is said to frequently extrude its intestines when disturbed and like most other sea cucumbers, the gut regenerates. 
Washed ashore and was found along the high tide mark amongst seaweeds - Westernport, Victoria

Defense

This species extrudes its intestines when threatened and regenerates the gut later.
