Naming

Some other English names include Malcolm's Pit Viper, Malcolm's Tree Viper, Mt. Kinabalu Pit Viper.

Some authorities place this species in the genus Parias. It was formerly considered a subspecies of Trimeresurus (Parias) sumatranus.

Distribution

Trimeresurus malcolmi is found in the Mt. Kinabalu region and other highlands of the Crocker Range in Sabah, East Malaysia, on the island of Borneo.
