Appearance

The wingspan is 25–35 mm. Adults are on wing from March to November or all year round in warmer regions. There are multiple generations per year.

Hypena scabra I took this picture in November 2020 and just found it is in the Hypena Genus as ID'd by someone on iNaturalist. This species is plentiful in Texas. It is perched on a window screen facing East.  Sorry for the poor quality of the photo, it was very bright sun and had to manipulate the photo a lot to reduce gamma. Food

The larvae feed on leaves of alfalfa, beans, clover, ragweed, raspberries, strawberries.
