Appearance

''Serranus baldwini'' can reach a length of 12 centimetres in males. The body shows four square black and red blotches on the lower side. It feeds on small shrimps and fishes.

Distribution

This species can be found from southern Florida and Bahamas to the southeast of Brazil.

Habitat

It is a marine reef-associated species, living in rocky and weedy areas at a depth of 1 – 80 m.
