Hoplomorpha abalienella

Hoplomorpha abalienella

Hoplomorpha abalienella is a member of Oecophoridae (Concealer moths) family.
Oecophorine Moth -Wingia Group (Hoplomorpha abalienella) Looking like it was featuring a Solar eclipse on its back, this moth had a wing span of only 20 mm. Wings were slightly tented with each forewing showing a semicircular dark patch with a thin silvery rim along the inner wing margin. When at rest these markings came together to form a dark circular patch in the centre of the moth's back. The rest of the fore wings were a paler brown. Labial palps were re-curved.
Larvae of this species feed on eucalyptus leaves (Myrtaceae)
