Myzia gebleri - TwentseWelle A few quick shots of a specimen of Myzia gebleri in the collection of the Museum TwentseWelle in Enschede, Netherlands
The specimen originates from (around?) the town of Chita in the Zabaykalsky Krai in Russia (historical region of Transbaikalia).
Currently (2017) there are not many images of this species available on the internet, so I figured I'd add this one in the public domain. Coccinellidae,Coccinellinae,Coleoptera,Ladybird,Myzia,Myzia gebleri,Russia,TwentseWelle

Naming

This species was originally described as Coccinella ramosa by Faldermann in 1833, but the name was preoccupied (Coccinella ramosa Olivier, 1808), so in 1874 Crotch renamed it to Mysia(sic!) gebleri.
Over time it has been known under various genus names, such as Sospita (Myzia) gebleri, Paramysia gebleri and Neomysia gebleri.
The species Neomysia kasaii Kurisaki, 1920 is synonymized with M. gebleri.
