Scolia verticalis, the Blue Flower Wasp, is a scoliid wasp that occurs in Australia. Scoliid wasps are solitary parasitoids of scarab beetle larvae. Female scoliids burrow into the ground in search of these larvae and then use their sting to paralyze them.
