Prasocuris marginella is a small (3,3-4,7mm) leaf beetle (Chrysomelidae) in the subfamily Chrysomelinae feeding on Buttercups (Ranunculus) in damp environments (wetlands and marshy woodlands).

Appearance

Slender, narrow habitus, pronotum and elytra shiny blackish blue with yellowish red margins.

Naming

Originally described as Chrysomela marginella by Linnaeus in 1758 it is known today either as Prasocuris (Hydrothassa) marginella or -if the subgenus is lifted to genus status- as Hydrothassa (Hydrothassa) marginella (Linnaeus, 1758)
