Diuris chrysantha

Diuris chrysantha

Diuris chrysantha is one of the "Donkey Orchids", a genus (Diuris) largely endemic to Australia. The scientific name for the genus refers to the hanging sepals but the common name derives from the ear-like petals. The mainly yellow flowers with darker markings are thought to mimic nectar-producing flowers which open at the same time.
