Doubleday's Notocelia Moth

Notocelia rosaecolana

''Notocelia rosaecolana'' is a moth of the family Tortricidae. It is found in the Palearctic ecozone, where it has been recorded from China, Mongolia, Korea, Japan, Iran, Central Asia, Russia and Europe.

Appearance

The wingspan is 15–20 mm. The moth closely resembles ''Notocelia trimaculana'' and ''Notocelia roborana''. Adults are on wing from late May to August in western Europe.
Notocelia rosaecolana - Caterpillar Larva found in buds of Rosa rugosa and reared to adult. Images of imago not worthwhile, but just good enough for ID (by Jeanette Essink - thanks!) ;o)

Food

The larvae feed on various roses, including ''Rosa multiflora'', ''Rosa davurica'' and ''Rosa rugosa''.
