A Thornscrub Hook-nosed Snake (Gyalopion quadrangulare) on the road at night These beautiful little snakes are one of the best finds in extreme southern Arizona, where they barely cross the border from Mexico. But further south in Mexico, they are one of the most commonly found species at night. This was one of three we saw on this night; we saw several more on other nights also.
