Paropsis rubidipes

Paropsis rubidipes

Paropsis rubidipes is one of 73 species of leaf beetles in the Paropsis genus. Paropsines are hemispherical beetles and feed on eucalyptus in all but a few cases.
Paropsis rubidipes This delightful beetle is a Tasmanian endemic. Named for its red feet, it also has a bright purple body underneath.
I was collecting with the Tasmanian beetle expert above the snow zone. This is allied to Paropsis bella on the mainland and species distinction is valid.
