Paropsis rubidipes This delightful beetle is a Tasmanian endemic.  Named for its red feet, it also has a bright purple body underneath.  <br />
I was collecting with the Tasmanian beetle expert above the snow zone.   This is allied to Paropsis bella on the mainland  and species distinction is valid.  <br />

Paropsis rubidipes

This delightful beetle is a Tasmanian endemic. Named for its red feet, it also has a bright purple body underneath.

Paropsis rubidipes is one of 73 species of leaf beetles in the Paropsis genus. Paropsines are hemispherical beetles and feed on eucalyptus in all but a few cases.
