Paropsis rubidipes
This delightful beetle is a Tasmanian endemic. Named for its red feet, it also has a bright purple body underneath.
I was collecting with the Tasmanian beetle expert above the snow zone. This is allied to Paropsis bella on the mainland and species distinction is valid.

Paropsis rubidipes is one of 73 species of leaf beetles in the Paropsis genus. Paropsines are hemispherical beetles and feed on eucalyptus in all but a few cases.
