Halosalda lateralis
Halosalda lateralis
Halosalda lateralis is a Shore Bug (Saldidae) that mostly lives in the saline sandy environments along the maritime coastline, but occasionally also inland (rarely even non-saline). Several hours of inundation can be sustained while holding on to a submerged plant, by going into a stasis and thanks to special structures on the dorsum, under the hemelytra that provide a means of taking in some oxygen under water.
