Tricoloured Ringneck

Liopeltis tricolor

The largest species in this genus, reaching just over half a meter. The dorsal body coloration is greenish or olive. A conspicuous black stripe runs through the eye and onto the anterior part of the body. The pupils are round. The ventral surface is yellow. Diurnal. A terrestrial species, living in the leaf litter. Feeds on insects and spiders.
