Ragged Snake-eyed Skink

Cryptoblepharus pannosus

One of a large group of widespread and common small Australian skinks. This species is brown, grey, to blackish with a variable, complex ragged-edged dark vertebral stripe. It is mainly arboreal but also extends onto human structures and rocks.

Naming

Split from Cryptoblepharus plagiocephalus in 2007.

Distribution

It ranges throughout much of inland eastern Australia, reaching the coast only in the extreme north.
