
Naming
Phasmid of this species have 4 yellow spots on the wing covers, hence its name flavoguttata (Latin flavus - yellow and guttatus - drops/spots)The females of this species, which makes them identified to the correct genus of Rhamphosipyloidea has a pointed hook like genitalia, which they use to drill the eggs into substrates. Species from the genus Marmessoidea which they are currently placed under does not do that but either glues their eggs or pin them into substrates.
