Dianthus petraeus is a species of flowering plant native to rocky areas in the Balkan peninsula.
Wild carnations - Dianthus petraeus Plitvice Lakes, Plitvicka-Jezera National Park, Croatia (June, 2016).
The species is tentative (please suggest alternatives if wrong). They were growing on the rocky sides of the top views of the cliffs facing the down lakes of Plitvice. The flowers were white with a purple ring in the center and they were evenly spread in the plants which looked like small size herbs of maybe up to 20 cm tall or so.. Appearance

Loose mat to cushion-forming, green to somewhat glaucous. Leaves narrow, stiff and tapering to a fine point. The 10-15cm leafless stems carry solitary flowers, 8-10mm across, white or pale pink, sometimes bearded and with toothed petals.

D.p. subsp. petraeus has deeply notched, almost lacinate petals.
