  2. Interesting color on this one. The ones I see are more cream/yellowish/orange:
    Banded Tussock Moth - Halysidota tessellaris Total length: ~25 mm. Pale pinkish tan forewing with irregular pattern of slightly darker bands. Thorax has blue and yellow dorsal stripes. Orange, fuzzy abdomen.<br />

Habitat: Attracted to a 395 nm light in a semi-rural area. <br />

    1. There were a lot of Tussock moths around our house during Moth Week, but I didn’t see any others like this one. Posted 5 years ago
      1. We have had a lot here too lately. And, TONS of these beetles:
        Asiatic Garden Beetles -  Maladera castanea I have had huge numbers of these beetles at my light each night. They are everywhere and all over me, frequently flying directly into my eyeballs. I despise them, to be honest. But, I also can't help being impressed by their sexual prowess - they are constantly mating.  Check out the impressive genitalia on the male in this photo!<br />
