  2. Hello Ernst - this came up when I posted my Hardenbergia violacea just now and your sighting is not one of the three species of Hardenbergia. The leaves here are completely different. Definitely within family Faboideae, as can be seen by the typical 'pea' type flowers. I believe this plant is within genus Hovea perhaps pungens sp. (commonly called Devil's Pins). Posted 4 years ago
    1. Thanks Ruth ,I will check it and will correct it. Posted 4 years ago
      1. What happened,I checked a Flora list from the Department of Environment for Cox Scrub Reserve and it had no Hovea species listed and only one for genus Hardenbergia violacea. I must have thought that this is the one ,assuming that a Gov. list should be ok. I can’t remember if I checked on images ( probably not)
Hovea pungent is listed as occurring in SA , but not mentioned for Cox Scrub. Checking on flowering times it fits to H. pungens. So as I can’t really come up with a defined answer I will leave it just under genus Hovea. Thanks for finding it.
