  2. I want to learn how to make these extreme macro shots. Posted 5 years ago, modified 5 years ago
    1. What is your current setup, Deb? Do you already do macro? Posted 5 years ago
      1. I try, however I don’t have the appropriate lens to get the extreme that you show. I have been experimenting with the camera I have which is a Nikon 5100 that has an 18 to 55 lens. Posted 5 years ago
        1. Ok. The 18-55mm will not have enough magnification for macro, so there's a few ways to do that:
          - Reversing particular lenzes
          - Using extension rings
          - Using something like a Raynox (add-on lens)
          - Buying a macro lens

Many options, each with their own pros and cons, and budget needs.

  3. Hi Ferdy, I ordered a reverse ring I should be getting this week and I'm excited to try it out. What are you using to get 4x magnification? Posted 5 years ago
    1. I'm using this lens:
      Laowa Venus 25mm f/2.8 2.5-5x Ultra-Macro

...yet this is not a lens that is very usable in the field. I typically use it indoors combined with an automatic stack rail. This video gives a glimp of how it works:
