  1. very very nice shot Ferdy with nice colors, but in my opinion this is a Calumma parsonii parsonii. I can tell that by the two overgrowth on his nose, this chameleon is a common species in Ranomafana if you get lower in altitude Posted 3 years ago

      1. I missed this one earlier. Not to bounce you around too much, but this is actually O'Shaughnessy's Chameleon (Calumma oshaughnessyi). Males of both Parson's and O'Shaughnessy's have the two rostral projections, and they are similar in size (though Parson's is somewhat larger). The most distinctive feature of O'Shaughnessy's is the bright blue or blue-green chin on adult males, clearly visible here. (The pattern of diagonal stripes is also pretty distinctive.) Both can be found in the Ranomafana area. Posted 2 years ago

O'Shaughnessy's chameleon (Calumma oshaughnessyi) is a species of chameleon, a lizard in the family Chamaeleonidae. The species is endemic to Madagascar. It was named after the British poet and herpetologist Arthur O'Shaughnessy.
