Native to Australia. With its cloak of many colours, a lovely visitor to my porch, a granny's cloak moth in family Erebidae.
In the bush during day light hours, these moths can be found in dark places such as caves.
Larvae feed on wattle (family Mimosaceae) and yellow tulip (family Euphorbiaceae).
Wingspan 75 mm

Granny's Cloak Moth is a species of moth of the Noctuidae family. It is found in the north-east quarter of Australia and Tasmania. Strays have been recorded on Norfolk Island and in New Zealand.
