Granny's Cloak Moth is a species of moth of the Noctuidae family. It is found in the north-east quarter of Australia and Tasmania. Strays have been recorded on Norfolk Island and in New Zealand.

This species of moth likes to hide in dark places such as a cave during the day and my garage made for an equally safe spot for this one that I found sheltering there. I photographed it while it rested on a ream of paper. Appearance

The wingspan is about 70 mm. The larvae feed on "Acacia" species.
