can somebody tell me to which butterfly belongs this caterpillar?

Nice photo of a hawk moth. There are many species and it is not easy to find out what the adult moth looks like. If you know what plant the caterpillar was feeding on you can keep it in a closed box but will have to give it fresh leaves at least every 2nd day. Put the branches with leaves in a jar with water but you have to put some paper or whatever around the top so that the caterpillar doesn’t fall into the water. The caterpillar will turn into a pupae soon and will after 2-3weeks emerge as a moth. Place some dry leaves or Gras ion the bottom of the box so that the caterpillar can hide when it wants to pupate. When the moth emerges take a photo and look up in books or internet and try to find out what species it is. Good luck.
