Ectoparasitic Mites (Larvae) - Leptus sp. Sorry for the bad photo quality! These mites are ectoparasitic larvae of the genus Leptus. They feed on their host (harvestman in this case), and then the mites drop off, become nymphs, and then finally adults. The nymphs and adults are free living predators. The larval mites don&#039;t kill the harvestmen, but they probably affect longevity and fecundity. <br />
