Eastern lesser bamboo lemur feels misunderstood Just outside the crowded exchange of tourists, their fruits and hungry brown lemurs, this bamboo lemurs observes from a distance. It feels misunderstood. It doesn't want fruit, it wants bamboo. In fact, some claim the bamboo lemur is nature's biggest drug addict. Bamboo is full of cyanide, and it is not entirely clear how the animal detoxifies it. One thing is for sure, this animal is either craving new bamboo or passing out in the bushes for most of his days. They are vertical climbers and jump from stalk to stalk in thick bamboo forests.
