  1. Those nests are awesome. I just read this:

    "females build an enclosed, pouch-like, hanging nest that typically is place near Polistine wasp nests. This provides protection from mammals and botflies." (https://neotropical.birds.cornell.edu/Species-Account/nb/species/yercac1/overview)

    So, I guess the wasps kill the botfly larvae and also scare away mammalian predators. In this video, you can see the wasp nest (or, an ant nest as they refer to it):

The Yellow-rumped Cacique, ''Cacicus cela'', is a passerine bird in the New World family Icteridae. It breeds in much of northern South America from Panama and Trinidad south to Peru, Bolivia and central Brazil.
