Sartaba Peak this peak is very prominent in its surrounding, standing 377m above sea level (the Jordan Valley beneath it is 300 m below sea level, so it&#039;s much more impressive there). <br />
in Biblical times, when messages were passed using bonfires on peaks, this was one of the peaks that helped pass messages from Jerusalem to the Galilee and north.<br />
During the rule of the Maccabees (that rebelled against the Greek, and had a small kingdom in the region after that) there was a fortress on the peak of the mountain. <br />
