          I already have compound (up to 1000x) and dissecting scopes, and I am also considering getting a camera attachment for my compound scope. But, the magnifying power of a basic dissecting scope is enough for most of my purposes (getting closer shots of tiny insects, galls, leaf mines, etc.). The scope I just ordered has a magnifying power of 800x on a computer screen.
