  1. Tricky...weevils are the largest groups of animals on the planet, so it can be quite hard to identify them. One thing I would suggest you try is to include location in your searches. For example, "Magdalis aenescens" is described as a US species, so that makes it unlikely to match with your Malaysia finding.

    Try to keep that in mind, a visual match is usually not enough.

    Don't worry too much if you cannot find a match, this is common for insects.
