Weeping Milk Cap - Lactifluus volemus Attractive, brownish orange mushrooms. The velvety caps had inrolled margins and were mostly flat with central depressions. the gills were attached to the stem and were creamy white, but discolored brown when injured. The stipe was colored similar to the cap, but more pale.

They leak copious amounts of white milk, which stains everything it touches brown. This species also has a fishy odor, which intensifies after the mushrooms have been picked.
1. Did you do a remote flash setup here? Or no flash at all? Posted 5 years ago
    1. I don't remember, but I don't think I was using any remote flashes back in July, so I think this was just no flash. It would have looked cool with a little bit more light though. I did use the in-camera flash for the other photo of this mushroom cluster. Posted 5 years ago
      1. I'm actually liking the result, that's why I asked :) Posted 5 years ago
        1. Ohhh. Well, thanks! I remember wanting the white milk to stand out and thinking that no flash would be a good way to accomplish that. But, it would also have looked so nice with a hint of light filtering through... Posted 5 years ago
