
Mice - Peromyscus sp.
These mice had black eyes, pale pink noses, rounded ears, and a white ventral surface. their overall fur color was brownish gray. Their body length was ~ 5 cm.
They are either Peromyscus leucopus or Peromyscus maniculatus. I think they are Peromyscus leucopus, but can't tell for sure because these 2 species can't be told apart without closer examination.
Habitat: Found in an old, unused map box at a nature center. Last winter, a couple mice made this box into a home. And, this year, there are even more! I think there around 5-6 all snuggled up in this nest.
