  1. I love ladybugs! I especially like the background of this shot and the selective sharpness to match. I tried once, my backdrop was less impressive. Nice shot!
    Lady in red Her paper wings closing as she landed on me,<br />
I held her up loosely for others to see.<br />
The wind picked up and started to blow,<br />
and I knew Lady Luck would soon have to go.<br />

Coccinella septempunctata is the most common ladybird in Europe. Its elytra are of a red colour, but punctuated with three black spots each, with one further spot being spread over the junction of the two, making a total of seven spots, from which the species derives both its common and scientific names.
