Meadow Spittlebug - Philaenus spumarius
Small, green froghopper nymph (spittlebug). It sure was making a lot of spit!
After hatching, nymphs cover themselves in a frothy "spit" made of tiny bubbles. The bubbles protect them from drying out and makes it difficult for predators to find them. Adult spittlebugs are called froghoppers.
Habitat: Meadow
